How to access the data

You need to register if you are:

  • An EU manufacturer or importer of substances (>1tonne/year) on their own or in a mixture
  • An EU producer or importer of articles meeting the criteria explained in the Guidance on requirements for substances in articles
  • An “Only representative” established in the EU and appointed by a manufacturer, formulator or article producer established outside the EU to fulfil the registration obligations of importers

Registration is based on the “one substance, one registration” principle. This means that manufacturers and importers of the same substance have to submit their registration jointly. The analytical and spectral information provided should be consistent and sufficient to confirm the substance identity. Each Registration dossier has a Lead Registrant, who submits the joint registration dossier; and each co-registrant has the obligation to submit its own information in its individual dossier.

How to access the data required for REACH Registration of Vanadium Consortium substances in the EU?

There are two options to join the REACH Registration of Vanadium Consortium substances: 

  1. Become a full member of the Vanadium Consortium
    Members of the Vanadium Consortium have the right to refer to the joint registration dossier and to participate in the activities of the Consortium, including the General Assembly who takes the decisions related to the approval of the dossier updates, data generation and other scientific activities.
  2. Purchase a Letter of Access
    A Letter of Access (LoA) is a document that essentially grants recipients the permission to refer to the joint registration dossier solely to register a specific substance under REACH. The recipients’ rights to review/inspect the information submitted is limited to what is strictly necessary. The cost of an LoA is differentiated by the tonnage band intended for registration.

How to access the data required for the Registration of Vanadium Consortium substances in other jurisdictions?

Other regions of the world have implemented legislation on chemicals management, imposing registration obligations similar to EU REACH. For example, Turkey (KKDIK) and the Republic of Korea (ARECs or K-REACH). Companies interested in accessing the information included in the EU REACH Registration of the Vanadium Consortium substances for the purpose of fulfilling regulatory requirements outside the EU can purchase a License to Use from the Vanadium Consortium.
Please note that the Vanadium Consortium is not able to provide any technical or legal support related to non-EU legislation. The scope of the Vanadium Consortium mandate is limited to EU REACH and CLP.
