Welcome to the SIEF webpage for Ammonium Trivanadium Octaoxide

(Ammonium Trivanadium Octaoxide, EINECS No. 235-384-0)

Pre-registrants for Ammonium Vanadium Oxide (EINECS No. 234-351-8) may agree that they manufacture, intend to manufacture or import a substance that is sufficiently similar to Ammonium Trivanadium Octaoxide (EINECS No. 235-384-0) to allow read-across and to merge into one SIEF.

Please proceed to:

SIEF – Who is who?

  • Lead Registrant: Treibacher Industrie AG (Only Representative of a Vanadium Consortium member)
  • SIEF Facilitator: Vanadium Consortium on behalf of the Lead Registrant.
  • Pre-registrants can participate in the SIEF at different activity levels: very active, involved, passive, and dormant.

Ammonium trivanadium octaoxide was successfully REACH registered as "intermediate > 1000 tpy” by the Lead Registrant in November 2010 and is planned to be registered as "substance > 100 tpy” in 2013.

If you are a SIEF-member that is not a member of the Vanadium Consortium, you will need to:

  • Purchase a Letter of Access (LoA) to the technical dossier from the Vanadium Consortium. For further details, please visit the LOA website.
  • Join the Joint Submission for this substance in REACH-IT.(You will receive the needed details after you have purchased your Letter of Access).
  • Prepare and submit your joint-submission REACH-registration dossier to ECHA. (After an LoA purchase, the Vanadium Consortium will provide Joint-Submission Guidance and a template IUCLID electronic i5z file).

SIEF Time table:

  • May – September 2009:
    • All pre-registrants for Ammonium Trivanadium Octaoxide and Ammonium Vanadium Oxide were invited to participate in the Substance Sameness Survey for Ammonium Trivanadium Octaoxide.
  • October 2009:
    • The SIEF was formed.
    • The results of the substance sameness survey were sent to all pre-registrants.
    • 15 pre-registrants responded to the survey (out of 48 pre-registrants in the REACH-IT system).
    • Respondents that participated in the Sameness Survey are considered to be Active Members of the SIEF. The Secretariat of the Vanadium Consortium will work with Active Members within each SIEF.
    • A SIEF member letter was sent to all participants of the Substance Sameness Survey.
      • Treibacher Industrie AG was proposed as Lead Registrant.
      • SIEF members were asked to nominate further candidate Lead Registrants until October 20th.
    • SIEF members that offer data for sharing were contacted.
  • November 2009:
      • Elected Lead Registrant: Treibacher Industrie AG
        • No other candidates were nominated.
  • November 2010:
    • Ammonium trivanadium octaoxide (EINECS No. 235-384-0) was successfully REACH registered as "intermediate > 1000 tpy".
  • January 2011:
    • Preparations for REACH registration as "substance > 100 tpy" in May 2013 initiated.
